Brass is a binary alloy of copper with zinc in which the copper content is at least 50%. Other elements may also be added, which — if present in high percentages — determine the name special brass.
NAVAL BRASS
Naval brass is the classic marine alloy, high-strength and corrosion-resistant, containing 60 percent copper, 0.75 percent tin and 39.2 percent zinc. It is widely used in marine construction where the material is suitable for hardness and corrosion resistance. Naval brass is used in propeller shafts, marine tooling and decorative fittings. There are also many industrial applications, such as welding rods, condenser plates, structural uses, valve stems, balls, heat-exchanger tubes, dies, and many others.
SIMILORO
Similoro is a metal alloy composed of copper, zinc and tin. The percentage ratio of these three metals in the alloy is as follows: 84% copper, 9% zinc and 7% tin.
